Why the pilot program is important

The pilot program is a big step forward in our efforts on educating and enabling the next generation on food allergy and anaphylaxis. With your participation, we can help ensure that the program delivers the highest quality resources and meets the needs of educators across the country.

Caroline Lorette: inspiration for the school program

This program is inspired by Caroline Lorette of Rothesay, New Brunswick. Caroline passed away in 2014 after accidentally eating something that had one of her allergens in it. Her family is dedicated to promoting allergy awareness and education. Read a personal letter from the Lorette family.

What is required from participating educators

The goal is to teach the full program by June 3rd, 2022 and complete a short online survey by June 10th to provide your feedback. The completed survey is required to be entered into our contest to win $250 for your class!

This program includes:

  • Four modules that are approximately 30 minutes in length
  • Activities to support the learning modules – please do as many as you can
  • Pre/post assessments

Note for educators:
This program includes short videos to support instruction, there are several videos about Caroline Lorette with potentially sensitive content. The program also has options for instructional activities, including culminating activities.

With the videos and activities, it is up to you to decide what to use to teach the program. Choose the ones you feel are most appropriate for your class.
