Keeping it teal! Putting the spotlight on food allergy across Canada

May 19, 2017

May is Food Allergy Awareness Month, and what better way to highlight the important issue of food allergy than to literally shine a light on it? The colour of our cause is teal, and this week (week of May 15th) , monuments across Canada basked in teal light to raise awareness of food allergy.

With 1-in-13 Canadians managing at least one food allergy, these illuminations are not merely visual displays, but symbolic reminders of the need to work together to learn more about food allergy and strive to accommodate it across the nation.

Here is the current list of past and scheduled monument lightings. If you happen to visit them in person, we’d love to see your photos, which you can share on social media using the hashtag #allergyaware. On Twitter, you can also include a shout-out to us at @FoodAllergyCAN.
