New: AllergyAware.ca course for child care professionals.
We have recently launched our free online course, Anaphylaxis in Child Care Settings, the third course in our online training program.
Developed with Leap Learning Technologies Inc. and in collaboration with the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, this medically-reviewed and bilingual resource is designed for child care staff/caregivers in both centre- and home-based settings.
Learn more about the new course and be sure to share the information with your child care provider. We also continue to offer our Anaphylaxis in Schools course for educators and Anaphylaxis in the Community course for parents and others.

AUVI-Q®, known as Allerject in Canada, is returning to the U.S next year
Many of you have asked us about the status of the Allerject device, since it was recalled last Fall. As you may recall, both the Allerject and AUVI-Q devices were voluntarily recalled in 2015 due to the possibility of incorrect dosage delivery. Sanofi, who owned the rights to the devices at that time, later returned all rights back to Kaléo, the pharmaceutical company that originally created this device.
On October 26th, Kaléo announced that they will relaunch AUVI-Q® in the U.S. during the first half of 2017.

As per comments from Kaléo’s management, their focus will be on relaunching in the U.S. and they are evaluating alternatives for bringing it back to international markets.
