Elissa Abrams MD, FRCPC
Dr. Abrams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Section of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Manitoba. She is Vice Chair of the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Section of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; and President of the Allergy Section of the Canadian Paediatric Society. Her research interests include food allergy, food allergy prevention and early childhood wheeze.
Philippe Bégin MD, PhD, FRCPC, FAAAAI
Dr. Bégin is a clinician-scientist and assistant professor at the CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal) and the CHU Sainte-Justine (Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine); and he teaches allergy and immunology at the Université de Montréal. He is the director of the public oral immunotherapy clinic at the Sainte-Justine. His research focuses on new treatments for food allergy and their delivery in the public healthcare setting.
Moshe Ben-Shoshan MD, MSc
Dr. Ben-Shoshan is a physician in the division of Allergy/Immunology at Montreal Children’s Hospital. Among other accomplishments, he has established the largest cross-Canada registries that collect data on the diagnosis and management of food allergy, anaphylaxis, drug allergy, and primary immunodeficiencies; and his research has resulted in more than 90 published manuscripts. His research interests include anaphylaxis, chronic urticaria and immunodeficiency.
Edmond S. Chan MD, FRCPC
Dr. Chan is a certified practicing Pediatric Allergist, UBC Clinical Associate Professor, and Head of the Division of Allergy & Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics at BC Children’s Hospital. He leads a clinical research program dedicated to multiple aspects of food allergy and eosinophilic esophagitis. He is on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; and on the Executive of the Allergy Section of the Canadian Paediatric Society.
Julia Upton MD, FRCPC, MPH
Dr. Upton is on staff at the Hospital for Sick Children in the Immunology and Allergy department; and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She is Chair of the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Section of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; and her research interests include food desensitisation therapies, allergy diagnostics and advancing the recognition and treatment of immunodeficiencies.
Susan Waserman MSc, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Waserman is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy/Clinical Immunology at McMaster University; and the Director of the Adverse Reactions Clinic at the Firestone Institute of Respiratory Health, St Joseph’s Healthcare. She is President of the Canadian Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Foundation; and past President of the Ontario and Canadian Societies of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Her research interests include mechanisms and treatment of peanut allergy and food-related anaphylaxis as well as urticaria.
Wade Watson MD, MEd
Dr. Watson is a Professor of Pediatrics, Dalhousie University and Head of the Division of Allergy, IWK Health Centre. He is Associate Chair for Faculty Development, Department of Pediatrics at Dalhousie; and Chair Elect of the Specialty Committee, Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
