Deciding on a summer camp for your child with food allergies

Going to camp is an exciting opportunity for many children, but it can also be a time of anxiety for parents. This is especially true for parents of children with serious food allergies. However, with some careful planning, parents can help their children enjoy a safe and happy camp experience.

The Robyn Allen Leadership Award

Nominate a health care professional, industry representative, government representative, or an individual who has exemplified extraordinary leadership and dedication in the advancement of food allergy awareness and education. Learn more and nominate by April 30, 2018.

Sabrina Shannon

The Sabrina Shannon Memorial Award

The Sabrina Shannon Memorial Award offers two awards of $1,000 each for students entering their first year or continuing their studies at a post-secondary institution. Applicants do not need to have food allergies to be eligible for the award. Learn more and apply by June 22, 2018.


Ontario Volunteer Service Awards

In the spirit of National Volunteer Week (happening from April 15-21, 2018), we want to recognize our Ontario Volunteer Service Award winners for their long-standing dedication and commitment to Food Allergy Canada. They, along with all of our volunteers from coast-to-coast, make an enormous impact in helping others live more confidently with food allergies.

Congratulations to our youth volunteers, Shakib Bheriani, Alyssa Burrows, and Anita Shah for volunteering a minimum of two years with us.

Congratulations to Dylan Brennan and Lauren Solar who have volunteered with us for 10 years and 15 years respectively!

Upcoming conference for health care professionals

The Allergy Asthma & Immunology Society of Ontario (AAISO) and the Ontario Medical Association are hosting the 35th Annual Allergy Update in Toronto on April 21, 2018.

This conference, for practicing physicians and allied health professionals, will provide practical and current information related to allergy, asthma, and immunology.
