Q: What is neffy®?
neffy is an epinephrine nasal spray used to treat anaphylaxis.
Q: What dosages are available in Canada?
Currently, neffy is available in one dose: 2 mg dose for individuals who weigh 30 kg or more (66 lbs or more). This is equivalent to a 0.3 mg dose in an epinephrine auto-injector (e.g., EpiPen®).
Q: What about a 1 mg dose, is it available in Canada?
The 1 mg dose is under review with Health Canada and is not available at this time. The 1 mg dose is for children who weigh 33 lbs to less than 66 lbs.
Q. Is neffy available in a one-pack (one device) or two-pack (two devices)?
neffy is available as a two-pack.
Q: What is the price?
The price of neffy will depend on an individual’s coverage and the reimbursement conditions agreed upon with each province and insurance company. In Canada, neffy may be covered through private insurance or a provincial public drug plan, or available out-of-pocket. A time-limited financial support program is available if neffy is not covered for you. Get more details at neffy.ca.

Q: Where can I obtain neffy?
The device is now widely available in pharmacies across Canada; however, stock levels may vary by individual pharmacy. Please speak to your healthcare provider and check with your local pharmacy for additional availability details.
Q. Is a prescription required to obtain neffy?
neffy is a Schedule II medication in Quebec, meaning it is available behind the counter through a pharmacist without a prescription. In all other provinces and territories, a prescription from a healthcare provider is currently required to obtain neffy.
According to ALK, scheduling updates are anticipated in Q4 2026. If the scheduling change is completed, neffy is expected to be available without a prescription across Canada.
Organizations that want to have stock epinephrine (epinephrine that is purchased and kept on site for emergency use, rather than prescribed to a specific individual) can obtain neffy by following ALK’s organizational ordering process. Contact [email protected] for more details.
Q: Will prescriptions for EpiPen® and neffy be interchangeable at the pharmacy?
No, prescriptions are not interchangeable at the pharmacy. Exceptions may apply, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
Q: How can I get a demonstration device?
Currently the demonstration devices are only available for healthcare professionals and organizations, such as schools. If you are a patient, please speak to your healthcare provider to get a demonstration in their facility/clinic. You can view a video that shows the instructions for use at neffy.ca.
