Webinar May 16th: The ins and outs of clinical trials

Join us to hear from Dr. Julia Upton to learn about the role of clinical trials and how they work in providing treatment options for food allergy.

The session will cover details on clinical trials for food allergy treatment including why they are important, what they involve, the different stages of the trial, when patients get involved, and things to consider if you are participating in one.


Spring session: Allergy Pals/Allies online mentorship

Sign up your 7-to-15-year-old today for the Spring session of Allergy Pals/Allies. The free, 8-week online mentorship sessions will run from April 27 to June 22, 2024. These sessions are a great way for youth with food allergy to connect with others managing the condition. 
Kids who participate will: 

  • Build a support network by connecting with other children who have food allergy 
  • Learn strategies for managing their food allergy 
  • Feel more confident managing their food allergy 

Small group webinar on managing food allergy and anaphylaxis: Next session is April 10th 

Attend a free 90-minute interactive webinar led by a trained parent mentor to get your questions answered while connecting with others. You’ll learn fundamental information about daily management and living confidently with food allergy and anaphylaxis.

These sessions are geared towards parents of children who have been recently diagnosed with a food allergy. It’s also a great session for others who are interested in this topic or would like a refresher. Following the session, you’ll be able to answer:

  • What is food allergy
  • How to prevent a reaction  
  • What is anaphylaxis, including signs and symptoms
  • What to do in case of a reaction

Sessions are limited to 6 attendees, so register now to save your spot. Our next session is Wednesday April 10th


Connect with a support group  

Have you considered a support group? It provides a positive and caring environment for you to get help in dealing with the day-to-day stress of managing food allergy and risk of anaphylaxis.

It’s also a great way to keep updated on any new developments in the food allergy community and exchange tips for navigating throughout the year.

Find a support group near you and connect now! If there isn’t one in your community, we’ll help you get one started.


Encore series: Understanding pollen food allergy syndrome (PFAS)

In this series, we feature past online events and webinars.

This month, we are sharing our webinar on pollen food allergy syndrome (also known as oral food allergy syndrome). 

With Spring and pollen season underway, we’re sharing our webinar that reviews the link between pollen allergy and pollen food allergy syndrome (PFAS), also known as oral allergy syndrome or OAS. In this session, learn the basics of PFAS, including symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, reactions and their severity, and how to manage it.
