Share our #MoreThanPeanuts social posts

Help create public awareness this fall with our #MoreThanPeanuts social media campaign.

Sometimes, reactions happen because people are unaware of other allergens beyond peanut, and the same precautions may not be taken. One example is sesame – those with sesame allergy need to avoid hummus as the main ingredient is tahini, a paste made from sesame seeds.

Our #MoreThanPeanuts campaign focuses on supporting all food allergies, bringing attention to the seriousness of allergies, and highlighting the importance of knowing what’s in the food you eat and/or share with others.

Learn more about the campaign, share the social posts, and help us create conversations across Canada!

FDA approves neffy® epinephrine nasal spray

Photo from neffy.com

You may be aware that last month the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first nasal spray for the treatment of anaphylaxis — neffy® epinephrine nasal spray from ARS Pharmaceuticals. neffy is the first epinephrine product approved by the FDA for the treatment of anaphylaxis that is not administered by injection.

We have had initial conversations with ARS and are encouraged by their plans to apply for Canadian market access. According to their CEO, ARS anticipates filing for approval from Health Canada by Q4 2024.

The FDA approved neffy (2 mg) for treating anaphylaxis in adults and children weighing 30 kg (66 lbs) or greater. This week, ARS Pharmaceuticals submitted a new application to the FDA for neffy (1 mg) for treating anaphylaxis in children weighing 15 to 30 kg (33-66 lbs).

We’ll continue to keep you updated with news as we learn more.
